SGS Achieves UKAS Accreditation for ISO 14001:2026 Certification

SGS announced on 30 October 2026 that it has achieved accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for certification to ISO 14001:2026, the latest edition of the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS). The company said the accreditation reinforces its ability to support organisations in demonstrating conformity with the updated standard and managing their environmental responsibilities. UKAS accreditation provides independent recognition of a certification body’s competence within its approved scope, giving organisations seeking certification additional assurance that certification activities are carried out by a competent and impartial provider. Charlene Rice, Global Head of Certification (QHSE), Quality and Product Management at SGS, said the achievement demonstrates the company’s commitment to rigorous accreditation requirements and to delivering certification services to the highest standards of competence and impartiality. The 2026 edition updates the requirements of the previous version, and SGS advised organisations certified to ISO 14001:2015 to review the changes it introduces and plan their transition in line with the applicable requirements and deadlines. For organisations planning their ISO 14001:2026 transition, the accreditation means accredited certification against the new edition is now available through SGS’s global network.
