ISO/DIS 9002 Approved with 99% — Guidance for Applying ISO 9001:2026 Moves to Final Draft Stage
ISO/TC 176/SC 2 reported on 27 October 2026 that the Draft International Standard ISO/DIS 9002 has been approved, with 99% approval, following the close of the public comment period on 8 September 2026. ISO 9002 provides guidance for the application of ISO 9001, and this revision updates the guidance previously published as ISO/TS 9002:2016 for the 2015 edition so that it aligns with ISO 9001:2026, published on 16 September 2026. The working group responsible for the revision, Working Group 30 (WG 30), met in person in London from 13 to 16 October 2026 to review the comments received and prepare the draft for the next stage of its development, the Final Draft International Standard (FDIS). Its next meeting will be held virtually on 30 October 2026, with further meetings planned over the coming months.
