Altus Group Earns ISO/IEC 42001 Certification as Canada’s AI Governance Market Takes Shape
Altus Group Limited (TSX: AIF), a Toronto-based commercial real estate intelligence firm, announced on October 5, 2026 that it has achieved ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its artificial intelligence management system, covering its ARGUS Intelligence Platform and its suite of AI agents. “In AI, trust is everything,” said CEO Mike Gordon, pointing to customer confidence in the governance and controls behind the company’s AI-driven insights. ISO/IEC 42001, published in December 2023, is the world’s first certifiable international standard for AI management systems. The announcement follows Tundra Technical Solutions’ certification by DNV in July 2026, making Altus the second Canadian 42001 certification made public this year. Industry estimates put the global number of 42001 certifications below 400 as of September 2026 — a young but fast-growing market.
